You Don’t Deserve This

…what don’t I deserve?

Everything.

You don’t deserve having people on an email list.

You don’t deserve having a popular blog.

You don’t deserve having people buying your book.

You don’t deserve to have any of that stuff you want.

Why? Reasons.

Not mine, but yours. I could ask you any of those questions and I bet you’d have an answer for it.

When you don’t believe you deserve any of the above, you’ll give up at the first opportunity.

But.

If you’ve got a list of reasons ‘why’ you deserve, that email list, that popular blog, that bestselling book series, now that’s a different matter.

You can look beyond the failure and see what’s on the other side.

You can see why people should be on your email list and no one else’s, why people should be reading the great content you’re putting on your blog,  the books you’ve written.

Because you deserve to be there, and you’re not going to listen to the teacher, parent, or friend’s advice, that’s on a negative loop in your head, telling why you’re not good enough.

Yeah, you mightn’t be good enough now, but you still deserve a shot at the title like everyone else.

So, why do you deserve what you’re looking for?

Not sure?

Get a pen and paper and write down five reasons why you deserve to be doing what you’re doing right now

If you can’t, then I think you’re in the wrong game.

But if you can, keep it with you for those moments when you’re on the verge of giving up and throwing in the towel.

While you’re working on pen and paper, something I’m a fan of, when’s the last time you spent time working with your characters? Finding out all the reasons why they do what they do.

Like you, they need reasons to act they way they do.

PS – Because if you don’t know why they do what they do, how do you expect them to know?
