The Recklessness Of Being Self-Employed

…”Being employed is like being self-employed, but only with one client.”

– Brad Burton

Most people don’t look at it that way though.

– It’s risky starting a business.
– You, start a business? Good luck with that one.
– Well don’t come crying to me when it all goes wrong.

And those are the same people you see interviewed on TV when their boss decides to go to a Third world country with their job.

If you’ve got a job, you’re only one client away from the dole queue. – That folks, is the herd mentality.

It’s safe in the herd, but not a lot of thinking goes on there. – It’s more a case of monkey see, monkey do.

That’s why, when it comes to starting a business, most people jump to the brick and mortar model.

Because that’s what a business needs to look like.

Tell anyone that you’re making money creating coloring books, journals, or writing fiction….and they don’t look at it as a real business.

‘That’s just a hobby,’ they sneer. ‘That’s not a real business.’

Ah, the herd….you’ve got to love them.

Now, if I told them that once I made over $300 for four videos (that only took me less than two hours to do) ……I’m sure I’d get a few double takes.

If they still didn’t believe me, I’d send them here.

PS – Me, I’d rather have clients all over the world. – But what do I know, I do all this stuff from the kitchen table.
