My Father’s Words Of ‘Wisdom’

…while I’ll always be grateful for my father’s wisdom for keeping me away from truck driving….he had the odd, one or two ideas, that well, weren’t so hot.

Like this one…

‘Although I don’t know how to swim, I know if I ever fall into deep water, I’d be able to do it. It’s like an instinct that’ll kick in.’

Thankfully, that idea was never tested.

Because as someone that had a fear of deep water, I know what it’s like to go under a few times, watch the air bubbles going to the surface, and wish I was going that way too.

Babies, and animals might have the instinct to swim.

But when you’re in the deep end and don’t know what to do….it’s not the best time to start learning.

That’s a lot like folks you see in the ‘online business niche.’

Most have never learned how to swim themselves.

But they’ll tell you that you can.

But they won’t tell you that you need to keep moving to keep afloat.

They won’t tell you that it’s tough, and that you’ll probably panic with overwhelm in the beginning.

And that they’ve thrown so much weight on you that you’ll never see the surface again.

Now…

…while I mightn’t be a Michael Phelps, I’ve have learned over the years how to keep afloat when I needed to.

I also know that having someone nearby to ask questions of, and not overwhelm you, is something that’s handy to have when you start to panic.

That’s why, when I was reworking the WriteCome site, I added a new ‘ask me anything’ feature that member’s can use, alongside all my products.

Because at the end of the day, I want you to swim on your own….not stand in the shallow end, splashing your arms around, convinced that you’re really swimming.
