Here’s Something From A Man Who Knows His ‘Stuff’
…anyone who ever cracked open a self development book at any time, probably came across the name Earl Nightingale.
Compared to the crystal rubbing, run around naked in the moonlight gurus, that have taken over the self help dept, Earl was the real deal.
He’s a link in the chain that began with Andrew Carnegie and Napoleon Hill and on through to Bob Proctor..
Starting his career in radio after serving time in the US army, and surviving the Pearl Harbor attack, Earl recorded many shows on motivational and self development.
One of which, ‘The Strangest Secret,’ went on to become a ‘Gold Record’ selling a million copies.
You can find a copy on YouTube if you search for it.
Anyhoo…Earl said something in a recording that stuck with me.
If you want to be rich or be known for doing anything well, you’ve got to do the opposite to everyone else.
Anyone watching a Black Friday sale will watch the masses run for the TV and electrical gadgets.
Most of which only make them dumber or cost them more money in the long run.
Same with Youtube. Which videos get the most hits, the educational ones, or the one with the guy sticking the firework up his butt?
Same with emails.
If everyone’s emailing weekly or monthly it doesn’t mean it’s the wisest choice.
I told you yesterday.
Inboxes are full. Emails are bland. And people are busy.
If you think one email a week is going to part the waters like Moses you’re kidding yourself.
And doing your subscribers a disservice.
You’ve got a good product or book to sell, you know they’ll enjoy having it…but you’re only telling them about it once a week or a month?
They’ve got 6 or 29 days to find someone else’s book or product to amuse themselves with.
If you want to be zigging when everyone’s zagging go here.
Or if you’re happy to keep doing what you’re doing, don’t be surprised if someone else gets the sale instead of you.
