The Lesson In Yesterday’s Email
…now, while yesterday’s email produced a bit of last-minute activity, there’s a lesson to be learned from it.
But before I get there, I know some people have a lot on their hands right now, and the last thing they want is wasting time playing around with a few colouring book images. – Which I totally understand.
But for others, it was a missed opportunity.
An open goal, that they just had to kick the ball into.
As Woody Allen once said…
“80% of success is just showing up.”
Most people don’t show up.
They look at their heroes and put them on a pedestal and say to themselves…
‘I couldn’t do what they do.’
…and yet, they’d love nothing more than to be like them.
But what they don’t realize is that those people are taking actions that they’re not willing to take.
That’s it.
That’s what separates them.
Now, some people get plucked from obscurity, get seen in a YouTube video, or know someone who knows someone.
But the majority of people you look up to, have worked when no one was looking, have done jobs others weren’t
willing to do, and took action even when others told them they were out of their minds.
I want you to think about that for a moment.
Really….think…..about that.
The people you look up to are taking actions that you’re not willing to do.
That’s the reason you won’t find many people at the summit of the mountain.
The valley below, it’s a crowded place.
All filled with people who never show up.
Sure, they want to be up there to see the view, but it’s too far, and they don’t even try a short climb for a better view.
Showing up is 80% of success.
I’ll post the winner’s creation and my own ideas on the Facebook page later.
