Want Better Results, Become More Psycho
…when it comes to writing or anything you do online, your head can make a big difference between success and failure.
Take a bright shiny object course as an example, one that says that it’ll make you a hundreds bucks a day.
– What if you’ve never made ten bucks online?
– What if you’ve no confidence in yourself?
– What if a drama from childhood is still following you around, holding you back?
Case in point…..someone close to me suffered badly at the hands of a nun who was teaching him.
One day he made a mistake, and was made stand on his desk and listen to his classmates as they chanted ….’This boy is stupid’….helped along by his ‘teacher.’
Nice, huh?
Even now, as an adult, I can see him question himself and think he’s not clever enough.
Think he’d be able to run a successful online business?
I’ll let you in on something, he purposely stayed away from computers until recently because he didn’t think he was clever enough.
As they say, ‘Wherever you go, there you are..’
Still there with the same negative thinking, low confidence, and lack of belief in yourself.
So how do you put the odds in your favour?
Firstly, realise that the results you’re getting is because of where you are mentally.
If you’re a bad driver in a pedal car….you won’t suddenly know how to drive if you sit behind the wheel of a Ferrari.
You need to fix that driving problem before you look for a faster set of wheels.
Same for anyone that’s looking to be a fiction writer, blogger, or product creator. If your head’s not in the best of places, you’ll shoot yourself in the foot at every opportunity.
– You’ll give up at the first sign of difficulty.
– You’ll think that no one will read your books, or that you’re not good enough to be a writer.
– You’ll flit money away to prove the ‘You’re stupid’ story that’s still playing in your head.
Thing is, we can see these things in others and not in ourselves.
We see friends making the same money mistakes, going from one broken relationship to another, and doing the opposite of what they say.
When it comes to us…sometimes the truth’s harder to take.
But if you want better results you need to become more Psycho.
As in Psycho Cybernetics.
I’m on the third reading of this book and I’m still learning more about myself from it.
It’s not got the best of names, I’ll give you that, but if you want a better idea of why you do what you do and how to change it, it’ll help you.
It’s also been around a long time, which you can’t say about many bright shiny objects nowadays.
PS – Because of that story up there, I’ve got a very strong dislike for God’s penguins, or Sisters Of No Mercy as I like to call them.
