Why Amazon Is Always Going To Win…

….whether you like them or not, you have to give it to Amazon they know what they’re doing.

They’re also closing down a lot of stores with their marketing methods.

Even in Ireland, we’ve taken a hit because of what they’re doing.

Some retailers are giving out about what they’re doing, but…

  • how many are following up with customers after they’ve left the store?
  • asking for an email address
  • by giving entry into a free competition and emailing them regularly?
  • getting ‘Likes’ for their Facebook page in exchange for a discount voucher or code.

All of the above could be done and for virtually no cost.

‘Hey, do you know we’ve got a competition this month where we’re giving away $100 of pet food and equipment, including some of the stuff you’ve just bought.”

“Do you know we’ve got a Facebook page with a discount voucher on it? Why don’t you take out your smart phone right now and Like it. Once you do, I’ll be able to knock 10% of this purchase price.”

Or an email…

“Thanks for dropping by today and purchasing at our store. We look forward to seeing you come back. Do you know we have a Instagram page that features pictures of all our customers pets? We’d love to see yours.”

“…Oh and buy the way, you might also be interested in these products. You can check them out on our online store.”

Nothing earth shattering…and all could be done by any store.

But they’re rather toss good money away on advertising. Looking for new customers than following up with the ones they have.

What about you? Are you following up with your customers, or are you looking for the next one.

Your next customer was your last one.

If you let them get away you’ve got no one to blame if you’re not making sales.

Same goes for website and blog traffic.

If you’re not building a list, you’re going to go the same route as all those Mom and Pop stores.

You can blame Amazon or anyone else for your lack of sales, or you can build a list of customers and let them get to know you.

This is what I’m using…and because of it I’ll always be able to keep in touch with you.

And even if they unsubscribe you can still keep in front of them through Facebook retargeting ads.

But you need to know they’re real real email address to do it.

This can do it all with one simple click.
