Wise Words From Lady Gabby…

…the other day I heard a great quote from the TV show ‘Outlaws’ that I thought I’d share.

If you haven’t seen it, our hero Greg (Stephen Merchant) is a man who’s on a downward spiral. – His marriage has fallen apart, and through a few less than wise choices, he now finds himself doing community service.

Fast forward on a few episodes and we find Greg meeting his ex-wife with her new boyfriend in tow. – Of course, the new boyfriend is everything Greg isn’t, including being a parachute instructor.

After a few minutes of the two men peacocking and trying to outdo each other, Greg watches his ex-wife walk off with her new squeeze in tow.

‘You think I could do that…jumping out of planes?’ He asks Gabby, who minutes before was playing the part of his new and improved girlfriend.

‘No Greg,’ she replies, looking him up and down. ‘People who jump out of planes, jump out of planes because they want to jump out of planes.’

And it’s so true. – Although you may need to read through that a few times. 

People who write books, write books, because they want to write books.

People who blog, blog, because they want to blog.

People who create digital products, create digital products, because they want to create digital products.

There’s no magic to it.

There’s no asking for anyone’s permission.

You just do it.

And if you’re not doing it, it’s because you don’t want to do it.

Because if you did, you’d do it.

Scared and all as you may be.

That’s why I love people who collect email addresses and do nothing with them.

It’s a total waste of time, why bother?

People who write emails, write emails, because they want to write emails.
